　　此外，做英语翻译时还应该对英汉两种语言的差别有所了解。无论是英译汉，还是汉译英，有些译文出现过多不符合规范的语句，其原因就在于译者未能摆脱原语的干扰。对英汉语差别的了解，有助于译者克服这些干扰。比如，如果译者知道英语句长和汉语句长的差别，在英译汉时，就可以有意识地控制译文句子的长度，尽可能把原文的长句拆解来，在不违背原文风格的前提下，加以重组;汉译英时，也可以把汉语的短句加以整合，以免译文中的英文句子过短过散，不符合英语的行文规范。
